Contact us

One address, read by the person who writes the site. Corrections go to the front of the queue.

Email: info@sensorandlatch.com

This is the only contact address for Sensor & Latch. There is no phone line and no support desk - the site is small, and the inbox is read by the person who writes it.

The most useful message you can send us is a correction. If a spec on a page contradicts the manufacturer's own document, or a compatibility claim is wrong, or a product has been discontinued and we are still recommending it, tell us. Send the page, the sentence, and a link to the document if you have one - a correction that arrives with its source attached usually gets fixed the same day.

What we can help with

  • Factual errors. Specs, battery figures, protocol and hub requirements, published standards grades, subscription requirements, cost-to-run arithmetic. We fix these in place and add a dated changelog line - our editorial policy sets out exactly how.
  • Questions about how we picked something. The process is published on the methodology page, but if a particular ranking does not make sense to you, ask and we will explain the reasoning behind that specific page.
  • Questions about how we are funded. Including how much a given link is worth to us. The general answer is on the affiliate disclosure; we will answer the specific one honestly.
  • Suggestions for coverage. A product category we are missing, or a question our guides fail to answer, is genuinely useful to hear about.
  • Privacy requests. Covered in the privacy policy; send them here.

What we cannot help with

  • Individualized security consulting. We are not qualified to design a security setup for your specific building, and a page of general information is not a substitute for a professional who can look at your doors. Where life safety is involved - fire, carbon monoxide, medical alerting - talk to a professional, and expect us to say a monitored system may be the right answer even though it earns us nothing.
  • Product support, returns and warranty. We are not the seller and we have no support relationship with any manufacturer. Those go to the retailer or the brand.
  • Installation troubleshooting. We have not installed this hardware and would only be guessing. The manufacturer's support line has the tooling and the firmware notes; our installation guide covers the general sequence.

If you work for a brand

You are welcome to write to us, and a correction from a manufacturer is treated exactly like one from a reader - send the document and we will fix the page. What is not available is placement. We do not sell inclusion, ranking, sponsored posts or links, we do not accept review samples or free hardware, and we do not send drafts out for approval before publishing. Product announcements and spec sheet updates are genuinely useful; a pitch for coverage in exchange for anything is not.

Response times

An honest expectation rather than a promise: this is a small site, the inbox is read by one person, and there is no service level agreement behind it. Corrections with a source attached are handled fastest because they are the least work and the most important. Everything else is answered when it can be, and occasionally something gets missed - if you have not heard back and it matters, send it again rather than assuming we disagreed.
